Hi Karen,

Thanks for the reply, yes it was my first open water session as well.

I'm away for the next couple of wednesdays, but hopefully will be there after that, or any swims closer to Stirling and will see you then.

Karen

We were at Lochore on Wednesday night as well and agree it is a good location. Willie survived his first open water swimming session without too many complaints, although I think the warm weather and water temperature helped! We are going next week so might see you there Karen.

Hi,

I'm new to the club and was interested in trying some open water swimming before my first Triathlon.

I went to the open water swim at Lochore Meadows on Wednesday night. The group were friendly, well organised and its an attractive location. There may have been other Stirling members there, but being new I don't know what you look like yet!

Its about 50mins from the west side of Stirling, costs £4 to take part, there is ample free parking and changing facilities with showers. It was also hot and sunny, but guess that is not guaranteed!

Thanks for the post Alistair.

I got this email from Clive Waghorn who organises the open water swimming sessions at Lochore Meadows:

"Swim training for 2012 will commence on Wednesday 23 May at Lochore Meadowsand continue each Wednesday through the summer.

1800 at the Outdoor Pursuits Centre for 'in water' at 1830 for a session ofup to one hour.

I am hoping to negotiate an additional two weekend sessions in the two weeksprior to the Lochore Meadows Triathlon but nothing decided yet.  I will communicate when known.

I am also hoping to reduce the login queues by introducing a 'one off' registration process (names, addresses, tel nos email addresses etc etc) and having a simple 'sign in/payment' form thereafter.  Again I will communicate details.

Please copy this to your friends and club mates who are interested in open water swimming;    my list of email addresses is very limited.

Also please pray for some good weather;  I certainly will not be swimming with current temperatures - indeed temperatures could be below that permissible for swimming!".

It could be worth a visit if you are planning to do the Lochore Triathlon for the first time.
