This was the short race, including a 5k hill run followed by a 7k mountain bike.

The run course was on trails and started on a mild hill which turned into a bigger hill. This was followed by another hill which led on to the side of another hill before peaking - you guessed it – at the top of a hill! Then straight down a steep grassy descent all the way to the Hub. A kicker at the end – back up a steep hill to transition. The mountain bike was a good test of all round ability, climbing and technical descents from the Red Squirrel car park up the trails to the Buzzard’s Nest car park, then back down through winding trails and over wooden walkways and bridges and swooping turns to the finish at the Red Squirrel car park.
